Due to the growth experienced by the Group in recent years, Gestamp decided to optimize its global sourcing organization.

The biggest challenge was to implement a purchasing model at a global level in which more than 300 buyers from several countries would share the same strategy, methodology, organization and systems.

Objectives

  • Speed up synergies and the Group’s potential to improve results, optimizing quality , price and service levels for all goods and services purchased.

Solution

  • Implementation of an advanced matrix organization: purchasing becomes a strategic corporate business unit.
  • Development of a new corporate purchasing process based on: synergies, separation of functions, agile execution and proactive monitoring of objectives.
  • Creation of a Purchasing Committee, to execute the Group’s purchasing decisions.
  • Implementation of supply base management software tools: integrated with corporate ERP systems.
