CASBEGA is a concession holder for products of The Coca-Cola Company in central Spain. Its production centre is a world leader in terms of its technological and environmental innovation. CASBEGA, which employs 900 people, currently has more than 65,000 clients and sales in excess of 1.0 billion Euros.
New challenge: to strengthen the purchasing function
For this new challenge, CASBEGA asked FULLSTEP to analyze the existing situation in the company in order to subsequently draft an improvement master plan.
The analysis included the strategic position of the purchasing function in CASBEGA, the organization and structure of the Purchasing Department, the purchasing processes used and the tools and systems that support the function. The analysis also considered the materials and services purchased by CASBEGA, and the areas that make the purchases.
The analysis identified significant potential for improvement in general, expanding the scope of the Purchasing Department and improving the efficiency of processes through the application of new systems and procedures, as well as improvement opportunities in purchasing certain groups of materials and services.
