Bankinter is one of the six largest Spanish banks. It was created in June 1965 as an industrial bank, 50% owned by Banco de Santander and 50% owned by Bank of America. Bankinter has been characterized by its growth over the years and its technological leadership and innovation within the competitive Spanish financial sector.
Among the initiatives to optimize its organizational structure and processes, Bankinter decided to review its purchasing function given the significant potential for savings and the increase in efficiency that could be achieved.
It therefore selected Fullstep, which carried out a diagnosis of the existing purchasing function in every area where it applied: organization, operations, systems, products and services.
The objective of the study was to design a management model for the purchasing function that was suitable for the structure of the Bank and to determine the potential for generating savings on the products and services included in the scope of the project.
